
We are the UK's largest practical conservation charity, established in 1959. We have offices all over the UK, the Bangor office is located on the Vaynol estate in Felinheli.
If you decided to volunteer with us you would be able to get involved with the Practical Action Team. It is a team of volunteers managed by our Conservation Officer. The Conservation Officer organises all the practical conservation workdays and contacts volunteers as and when the jobs are happening. Tasks include dry stone walling, hedge laying, pond building, habitat management, wildlife gardening, just about anything that can be classed as environmental conservation! People who have been out of work for six months or more can join our Breakthrough Environmental Skills Training (BEST) Scheme and gain environmental qualifications through the Open College Network (OCN).
We work with people of all ages and backgrounds, so it is a great way of making new friends and learning a wide range of practical skills. We provide all necessary tools, equipment and training and transport to and from sites. So muck in!
We also run the Green Gym which takes place on the Vaynol Estate every Thursday from 1.30pm-3.30pm. The Green Gym is specifically for people who have or have had mental health problems.
